October 20, 2003 - 4TheBest eCommerce Solutions has released a new piece of software called QwkRed, which is a traffic redirection and shadow script execution program. the software was originally not slated to be released until the middle of next year, but this limited feature set version is being released now specifically for it's usefulness in working with the QwkTracker to track traffic on static HTML pages.
The QwkRed software works in a straight forward and dependable manner. It simply gets referenced by the HTML page, and the request is redirected to a resource like a blank image while Miva Merchant gets executed in the background thus enabling QwkTracker to log the origin of the visitor.
"It's pretty simple," said 4TheBest president Jeff Huber, " But it's also got some subtle tricky little things it does such as being able to convert parameters passed on the url to the static HTML page into valid Miva script global variables seamlessly to the user."
One thing is for sure, the ability to include traffic coming organically to static HTML pages into a Miva Merchant store's QwkTracker data is a very cool thing. And increases the value of the QwkTracker software dramatically. But at the same time 4TheBest is, at least for the foreseeable future, giving QwkRed away free to anyone who purchases QwkTracker.
